Hp 7520 photosmart
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Dears,

I would ask how can make an hard reset on my HP 7520 photosmart.

If I see the manual or the normal procedure it's impossible to solve the trouble.

There are two problems... The first is that the touch display doesn't work, it's freezed.

The second problem is about the web services, they aren't updatable...

Thank you in advance

Luca A.

Hello, @Lu70 – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.

I see that you are having issues with your Photosmart printer. I will certainly do my best to help you find a solution 🙂

First, update the printer firmware. Go to http://hp.care/2bSoPKA to download and install the printer firmware. Once the printer firmware is updated, restart your printer and check.

If the issue persists, perform a power drain on the printer. Here are the steps:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
  • Now, check the printer display by making a copy and also try accessing the web services.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Have a great day 🙂
