Hp Officejet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I recently upgraded from at 7600 to a 8620. With the 7600 I used HP Solutions to scan documents to a pdf file. During the preview portion, I could change the page order. This is an especially important function when the printer skips a page when pulling the document through. With the 8620 I am forced to use HP Scan Extended, which does not seem to have this functionality. So, how do I change the page order prior to saving a scan. I recently had to scan a 51 page document. The printer skipped a page. I tried to add the page immediately after the missing page, but it tacked it on to the end.  Then, I couldn't change the page order to move it to the correct position. This new software appears to be a complete nightmare! Why would you remove that important functionality? I had to scan the document 4 times before it was correct. I hope there is a way to resolve this.

Hi,

That can surely be done with HP Scan Extended:

  1. Open the HP Scan Extended software from your computer.
  2. Select Save as PDF.
  3. Ensure the box next to 'Show Viewer after scan' is checked and press on Scan, as well as a resolution of 300 DPI or lower.
  4. Within the preview pane drag the shown thumbnails of the scanned pages at the required order, by holding your mouse button over the image and dragging it.
