Welcome to HP Support Forum. Physically the legal size original is longer than letter size papers therfore you need to reduce when copy. Please try
(a) Load original oo ADF,
(b) Touch Copy a document,
(c) Touch Settings (gear icon),
(d) Touch Resize.
(e) Touch Custom and reduce in % (or try fit to page),
(f) Touch Return,
(g) Touch Start Black or Start Color to copy.
Regards.
