HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The recent security update (March 2022) took me by surprise and the manner of questioning alarmed me.  I managed to enter the wrong detail - I said my PC connected to the printer via wifi but they actually connect to each other via a USB cable.  So now my PC and printer aren't speaking!  I found HP's Virtual Assistant to be of no help at all, so I contacted Microsoft Support.  They advised me to delete my printer software and reload it (they provided a link to HP's appropriate page).  I'm just rather nervous of deleting all my HP folders and files.  Is there a way of safely deleting all HP software and drivers so I can make a clear start in downloading the printer software afresh?  I have already deleted the security update but that didn't get them communicating again.  Any advice on how to safely delete all the HP files would be welcome.
