HP Recommended

This worked for me:

1. right click on printer icon, open

2. select printer yu are using (8600), click ok

3. click on select Set Preferences

4. layout=portrait

5. paper/quality= printer auto select (or the tray you are using)

     paper= size 4x6

     media=scroll down to photo paper you are using

6. click ok.

I had to bow the photo paper a bit to get it to pick up.  I had no more trouble with printing the black and white photos I wanted to.
