Somewhere along the way, I lost the Username/Password and PIN (and don't recall actually setting them up). I can print wirelessly, but can only scan to a memory device. The scanner sees my laptop but scanning fails every time. I get this message: "SCAN FAILED. The action “Move Finder Items” encountered an error." This function used to work, but stopped for what reason I don't know. I know in trying to troubleshoot at one point, I also actually locked myself out of the ability to access many settings.

How do I fix all this, so that I can set this up to scan to my computer, email, etc., and set up other functions? Looking at HP documentation does not help!!!

@Stevear

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand you want information about resetting the username/ password, and pin,

Thank you for providing such details that help me get right to the point, rather than probing for more information, I appreciate it.

It looks like the only way to get past this situation is to perform a reset and revert back to factory defaults,

And Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped many others: Click here

Let me know if this doesn't work,

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
