@bottles

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I Understand you need information on how to restore icons to your HP printer control panel,

No worries as I'd love to help, however, I need a few more details to provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked?

Did you reset the printer, why are they in need of restoring?

While you reply with the answers, here's what you can do:

Here's your user guide that should contain all the details you'll need to restore the icons: Click here

To create shortcuts:

To quickly access your most used printer functions, create shortcut icons that display on the home screen of the printer control panel.

  1. Touch one of the blue function tabs, such as Fax, Photo, or Copy, and then select the icon you want for a shortcut.

  2. Touch and hold the icon until a green menu bar displays at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Drag the icon to the green bar, and then release it.

A new shortcut icon displays on the home screen.

To delete shortcuts, touch and hold the shortcut icon on the home screen, drag the icon to the red bar, and then release it.

You can find more details by clicking here

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
