Thanks to Shlomi for the following answer that I found at another URL. It worked for me and at least one other user.
- On the control panel, touch the Right Arrow and then touch Setup.
- Touch the Down Arrow and then touch Preferences.
- Touch Date and Time and then touch the Up and Down Arrows to set the month, day, and year.
- Touch Done and then touch the Return Arrow to return to the Main screen.

There are 7 options under Setup. Only the first 4 show on the first screen. Touch the down arrow to the right of the list of 4 and you'll see the other 3, including Preferences.
Here are the complete instructions, originally posted by Shlomi. They worked for me and at least 2 other users.
- On the control panel, touch the Right Arrow and then touch Setup.
- Touch the Down Arrow and then touch Preferences.
- Touch Date and Time and then touch the Up and Down Arrowsto set the month, day, and year.
- Touch Done and then touch the Return Arrow to return to the Main screen
