HP Officejet 8630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Document is not feeding through the printer to scan but then my computer shows the a document printed although it a blank document.  Also, my actual computer name is not showing up on the "Select Computer" prompt when Im scanning from the printer to the computer.  I need it to show my computer and not "Others" to choose from.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you are unable to scan from printer to PC and you need help with the same,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you check if scanning from the PC application works?

While you respond to that, try the below steps:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to quickly and automatically perform several troubleshooting tasks known to resolve this issue. When this link is clicked, HP Print and Scan Doctor is downloaded using your Internet browser's download capabilities.

You can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor to resolve scanning issues which might include instructions to fix problems, such as downloading software, testing the scan, or restarting the printer.

  1. On the desktop, double-click the HP Print and Scan Doctor icon  to open the tool.

  2. Click Start on the Welcome screen.

  3. Select your printer, and then click Next.

The Finding and Fixing Problems screen displays.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS. (Skip to Step 3)

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! 😉
