sure supply

Hi,

How do I turn off HP Sure Supply notification pop-ups? They are constant and annoying. I buy HP inks from a different supplier, please help.

Hi @lh39,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I understand you would like to turn off the HP Sure Supply notifications, you are using a different brand of cartridges and keep getting the pop up.

1. Start Menu

2. Control Panel

3. Devices and Printers

4. Highlight your OJ 8600 (Click on it)

5. You should now notice at the top of the devices and printers box there is a Print server properties tab (see pic below)

6. Once in the print server properties please click on the Advanced tab

7. Make sure ALL the boxes are unchecked (see pic below)

8. Click Apply

Please keep in mind that this will not turn off essential printer messages, notifying you of problems such as lack of ink or paper jams; it turns off messages notifying you of the completion of a print job or low ink warnings. Essential printer messages are built into the firmware of the printer itself and cannot be disabled.

I got this helpful information www.ehow.com

If you are still getting the error message, use genuine HP ink cartridges to avoid the pop up.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you require more assistance.

Thanks for your reply, I don't have that screen on my HP utility, this is the screen I have. I'm on a Mac,

I await your reply,

lh39,

I guess that's what assuming does!?  :mansurprised:lol Ok please follow the steps below for your Mac OS:

  • Open HP Utility
  • Under Information select Message Center
  • Modify the settings here.
  • I would recommend choosing 'Show only Errors'

Let me know the outcome!

Hi HvnLgh, thanks again for your prompt reply. I will hope that's sorted it. I will mark it resolved after a few days just to make sure. If I keep getting the pop-ups I'll be back in touch haha 🙂

@lh39,

I suggest using genuine HP cartridges and see if this clears the constant pop ups.

I do use genuine HP cartridges!!! But I don't buy them from sure supply, I choose to buy them from a local retailer. The problem is that I don't want to be reminded to buy them when I still have some ink left in them. I'm not going to take a cartridge out that still has 1/4 ink in it. Surely there must be a way. I've cleared 20+ pop ups just today, they're constant. I'm trying to work! I've own two HP printers, the last one didn't do this.

ok @lh39,

My bad, I thought you had said you used another supplier. My only suggestion is to uninstall the HP Utility, all your maintenance options can be controlled on the front panel as for Scanning workaround please click on the link below:

Scan from OS X v10.9 Mavericks without HP Software, the same steps apply if you are using another Mac OS X.

If this is not a viable solution for you, I would contact our technical support at 800-474-6836 to see what options they have available. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.
