How do you clean the print heads on a HP Photosmart Plus Model B210e using Windows 7? I can print in color, but not with the black cartridge, which is new........

Depending on the model, should be able to open the printer view the cartridge area remove the cartridges, after this there is a lever to the right of the black print cartridge install area you must lift up. After releasing the lever, hold the print head straight up and out. Do not touch any of the electrical connectors or the printhead itself with your fingers. Do not use alcohol or any solvent other than water to clean the print head. In order to clean the printhead, you must clean specifically in three places. The tools you will need to clean the printhead are a lint free cloth (I.E. a coffee filter is a good example) and using bottled water or filtered water only (DO NOT use tap water), slightly dampen the cloth. Begin first with cleaning the gold electrical contacts by wiping up and stopping before you get to the edge of the printhead. After completing this wipe the side edge above the gold electrical connectors from left to right always be sure that you are wiping away from the printheads in general. Upon completion of the previously mentioned step, look at the bottom of the printhead. there are angled ramps that point towards the printer head. You must clean the ramps by wiping only in a direction away from the printhead. After cleaning the printhead take a dry lint-free cloth, and wipe the surfaces you just cleaned to ensure no moisture is left on the printhead. Next, look inside the printer where the printhead is installed, and you will see gold electrical connectors there. You must clean those connectors by wiping downwards only with a lightly dampened cloth and then going over it with a dry lint free cloth. You have now cleaned the print head, and you may begin putting the print head back into the printer and slowly closing the handle to lock the print head back into place. From this point reinstall all in cartridges, and test for proper functionality. If cleaning the printhead has no effect you must contact HP customer service in order to arrange for service on your printer which is beyond the scope of the consumer serviceable parts.
