My customer is getting messages that their ink cartridges are expired, they are unable to bypass this issue and cannot print. How can I override or bypass this issue? The firmware does need to be upgraded, will this upgrade fix the issue?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

You cannot overwrite the expired ink message, But you can by pass it if they acknowledge the warnings displayed on the panel. Once they do that, the printer will continue printing.

The printer will NOT stop printing because one or more ink cartridge are expired.

If they cannot print, is for another reason.

Ask them to acknowledge the warnings and then troubleshoot further.

The machine does not ask to acknowledge. Should I perform a firmware upgrade, can I jump versions or do I need to upgrade gradually till its to the current version?

Hi,

Make sure the printer has latest Firmware.

The printer will prompt a few warnings, 3 per ink cartridge.

Now, if the printer is not detecting when the cartridge is inserted, thats is a different problem.

Look for any leak on the ink cartridges, run the leakage test, IDS test, or remote the cover and look for any leak under the IDS.

Best regards
