Envy 4512
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I am using Quicken Delux 2015, and when I only have one Check left from a page of 3 (8 1/2  X 11) I am unable to print  that single check.

Thank you,

Hello, @BillW87 – Hope you are well 🙂

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, I see that you are having issues while printing a single check using the application. I’d suggest you the steps listed below to try and fix the issue:

  • Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click on http://hp.care/2q4b5pF to download and install the printer drivers.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

If the issue persists, let me know the error that you are getting while printing the check. Is it going through the print queue or is it giving any error? Let me know.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck 🙂

I don't have a USB cable. My printer is wireless. When I went to control panel I had no programs etc.  Should I still reboot and load new driver?

Thank you,

Hello, @BillW87

I do understand that there is no USB cable. You can ignore the step about the USB cable.

Now, check the image below of the control panel on my PC. Check the category on the top right to change the view of the control panel and then select the uninstall program option.

Let me know if that helps!

Cheers 🙂

I opened control panel, and un-installed every thing pertaiing to HP. I then went to  http://hp.care/2q4b5pF  and did a complete install. I still have the same problem. I get an error message " this printeris unable to print on paper smaller than 4.5 X 11.4  cm".

Thank you,

Hello, @BillW87

Appreciate your efforts!

How about printing from other applications like MS Word or Adobe? Try to print a multiple page document from a different application. This will further help us isolate the issue.

If all other applications are working fine, then try to uninstall and reinstall the app that you are using to print checks.

Let me know if that helps!

Cheers 🙂

The Printer prints normally using other applications, and will print  two, or three checks on a page with no problem . It is only when I try to print a snigle check that I have the problem. The probllem is obviously with the printer. I told you that I get a message ," This Printer will not print on a page smaller than 4.5 X 11.4 cm".

I see ( from messages on the forum ) that  other people are having the same problem , therefore I must come to the conclusion that this is a printer problem.

Thank you,

Thanks for the reply.

May I know which software you are using to print checks?

Thanks for providing that information.

Follow the below steps to fix this issue.

  1. Choose File menu > File Operations > Validate and Repair.
  2. Check the options to Validate File and Reset all Quicken printer settings.
  3. Click OK.
  4. See if you can print.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
