Hello, I am trying to change the scan settings when I Scan to Email directly from my printer. I have been able to successfully scan to email but would like to change the settings of the scan (e.g. type of file, quality, black and white or color, etc.).
I currently have a Mac (Yosemite) and have installed the HP Utility and HP Easy Scan. I thought maybe I could set up scan presets from the computer but have not been able to find "Scan Settings" on the HP Utility.
When I select Scan to Email shortcut on the printer, I select my email address, confirm the address, select picture or document, and then scan. There are no options on screen to change the settings of scan itself. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi,
By scanning from teh Scan to Email app (within the Apps menu) basic scan functionality is offered with no much control.
To gain more control use the Scan to Computer option, a such allow more configuration options.
Click Scan, then click Computer and select your Mac computer name.
You may click the PDF to Email Shortcut to scan to email via Mail app on your Mac.
To change the scan options go to Applications > HP, ppen the HP Utility and select your device.
From Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
Click the Scan Tasks tab.
Select the affected shortcut and click on Edit... (or just double-click the shortcut).
In the section of Scan from an HP Device click on the blue triangle or the Show Details button to enlarge the menu.
From the shown menu you may change the scan resolution or size, any future scan from the HP Easy Scan app or from the printer's Scan > Computer will be affectred by the change.
Regards,
Shlomi
