Hi @AliaGonzalez15,
A warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you. 🙂 I understand that you require assistance regarding checking ink levels on your HP printer. I will be delighted to assist you with this.
Spectacular troubleshooting, superb description and splendid analysis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 You are a valued Hp customer and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.
- Please let me know the operating system used on the computer.
For now please perform these steps:
- Follow these steps to open the Printer Toolbox .
Click Start , click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center . The HP Solution Center opens.
Click Settings .
Click Print Settings .
Click Printer Toolbox .
NOTE:The Printer Toolbox can also be opened from the Print Properties dialog box. In the Print Properties dialog box, select Printing Preferences, click the Features tab, and then click Printer Services.
Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab.
NOTE: A print cartridge might be running out of ink even if the graphic shows that there is ink remaining in the print cartridge. Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the print cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink.
NOTE: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only. When an indicator shows low-ink levels, consider having a replacement cartridge available to avoid possible printing delays. You do not need to replace cartridges until print quality becomes unacceptable.
Also, please check the user guide for estimated ink levels: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01991014 please check page# 61 for more information and follow the instructions mentioned on that page. This should do the trick for you.
Please keep me posted. I will keep a watch for your reply.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂 Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
