Hi @Tonya1,

I understand that you would like to reset the wireless settings on the printer. I would like to help you.

Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for
5 seconds.

This information is provided by the manual on page 6. HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One series.

If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. Thank You.

Tried that already.. Blue wireless light still flashes on and off. Had new router/ gateway box put in with Att/Uverse , been having trouble with printer ever since.everything else connects fine, there are no switches or channel buttons I can change on this router either. It just keeps searching for a signal.even tried a new hp printer, it did same thing. I have an Epson that connects fine , I'm stumped .

Thanks for providing that information@Tonya1.

What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

I have provided some information that I hope is helpful in getting the printer recognized on the network.

Make sure there isn't any spaces or special characters in the network name, the printer may not recognize it.

The printer is only capable of sending/receiving in the 2.4 ghz band.

If the router is set to 5 GHZ network you may need to change to 2.4 ghz. (rename the 5 ghz or shut it off)

The WPA key setting needs to be on AES to work correctly not TKIP.

Multi casting needs to be turned on.
Firewall on router has to have open ports for printer.
If you have Mac Filtering you need to give printer hardware address from Configuration page.

You might need to contact your router company for further assistance to check those settings.

I have provided a document for setting up the printer over the network. Go to Step one: Prepare for installation, number 4 Optional: select Convert USB connected printer to wireless.

If you have any issues, please let me know what steps you have taken and the results. Thank You.
