I have a Photosmart eStation C510a. I ran out of paper while printing and found an error message indicating same. After reloading more paper, I could not find out how to get the printer going again? The status continued to show "out of paper". How do I clear that error and resume printing? Oddly, I could not find the answer to this simple question anywhere in the Help text or UG. I finally had to cancel the document queue and print the document over again.

Hi,
Any normal printer should be able to continue OR start over again when getting paper jam, out of papers and user follow all instruction to load more papers and/or remove jammed papers. My question: did you load more papers in the right order ?
Regards.

There is only one way to load

Just reloading paper does nothing. And there is no "Start" button on the printer. The answer is that one must go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers -> right-click on printer in question -> click on "see what's printing" -> click on "resume printing". Unfortunately, this process is nowhere documented in the UG, and it is pretty clumsy. No more HP products for this kid.

The answer to this question turns out to be simply lifting the top lid a little, and dropping it again.
Why this isn't mentioned in the instructions is beyond me. Perhaps HP likes to be a bit mysterious about their products.
