How to scan a two-sided document using the document feeder on a HP LaserJet Pro MFP M479

It depends on the model since you didn't specify exactly model of your printer it can be done in 2 ways:

 

M479dw doesn't support automatic 2-sided scan, that means you will need to scan one page first, then manually turn the page to 2nd side and scan. You can find instructions in user manual.

 

M479fnw and M479fdw support automatic 2-sided scanning and it can be done in single sheet pass. You can find instructions in the user manual.

Thank you for your assistance.  FYI the model is M479dw so it doesn't do automatic 2-sided scanning.
