Hello, @Vanessa_bello - Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others.

I understand that you are having issues while scanning using the HP Officejet printer connected using the USB to your Chromebook.  I will be glad to be of your assistance 🙂

Since there are no Chromebook scan drivers for your printer, the easiest way to scan is using the printer EWS page via the IP address. Hence if the printer is an Officejet 4500 wireless (G510n) model, connect the printer to the network using the steps mentioned here: Troubleshoot a Wi-Fi connection to an HP printer

If your printer is a regular Officejet 4500 without the wireless capability, then you can try the Chrome Scan app which was added to the Chrome Web Store. To be able to use this Scan app you have to connect your scanner to your Chromebook with a USB printer cable and you need to have Chrome OS Beta Channel Version 44 on your Chromebook.

If you are interested in trying the new Chrome Scan app you can find further information about it in the following: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/scan/pmnllmkmjilbojkpgplbdmckghmaocjh?utm_source=chrome-ap...

Let me know if that works!

Good luck 🙂
