I have a HP Photosmart C4280 All-In-One. I can scan ok, but can't figure out how to create 1 .pdf document for a multi-page scanned document. Also, what should settings be set to, like resolution, etc? Right now, I have a 4 page, hand-written document in black ink that I'd like to email to someone. I have a Macbook running 10.7. Thank you...I just joined this board, since I can't find any info on this in the "manual", help, or website.

I figured out the answer! I unchecked the "Use Custom Size" box which is right under "Resolution" on my Mac!!
Then, after scanning each page, I confirmed with Finder that the file size of my .pdf file was increasing! Then, I would go back to the scanner menu and scan!
Other settings, like "combine into a single document" were checked, etc.
I can't believe that changing that suddenly solved the problem with multiple .pdfs being created!

After upgrading to SL I too had problems scanning multiple pg documents from my iMac to my C4280 All-in-One...still am. I tried your suggestion; however, I do not have a "Use custom Size" box to uncheck. I have two size windows that allow me to enter heigth and width.
With the Hp drivers on Lepard i was able to scan multiple pgs w/no problems.
I did figure out how to combine pages from diferent PDF's into one PDF. The trick is to insert a blank page into the PDF you want to add pages to. Insert the blank page so that it is the last page. Then you should be able to drag and drop selected pages from other PDF's. I have the Preview PDF Scale Preferences set to 100% & in General to open each file in it's own window.
If any one has other information about scanning multiple pages please help me.
Thanks
