Hi,
You may not be able to scan directly to email.
If you have a smartphone, you can use the HP all in one printer app to scan the image to your smartphone cameraroll, from where you can then email it.
You can also scan it directly to your PC and email it from there. I've included the scan to computer instructions below.

Hi spenders,
After reading through the User Guide and some other documentation, I don't think the HP ENVY 4500 supports scan to email. Go to HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Series User Guide, then scroll to page 40.
