@Fusionon1

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an  HP Deskjet 1515 printer and it is not detected by a Win7 computer. The printer does not show up in the Device Manager and also in Devices and Printers. HP scan shows that the printer cannot be found.   I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • When did the printer work fine the last time and did any updates or software changes happen after which it stopped working?
  • Is the printer able to make a copy?

Meanwhile, I suggest you to perform the following steps to fix the issue:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue still persists then try connecting the printer to another USB port on the computer and check the computer detects that a new device is connected to it.

Please reply with the requested information. I'll be happy to assist you further. Cheers!

All lights are glowing and, I can use it as photo copier but it's not detectedby my PC since last time when I formatted and reinstalled the OS about 1 month ago

@Fusionon1

Since the copier is working, it indicates that the printing and scanning hardware is all good. Did you try connecting the printer to another USB port?

If possible please try using another USB cable for the printer.

Secondly, please check if the USB ports on the computer are working fine by connecting USB devices and check if they work.

Please let me know how it goes. Good luck! 🙂

All USB ports are fine with other devices.
The printer cable (comes with this Printer) is also working well with other printer

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and efforts.

It seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance on this.

Cheers.
