I've been using this printer flawlessly for about two years. I bought it because it could print wirelessly and setup could be done without a computer. Setup was not a problem. It is located in a separate building from my home yet works via the router located in my home. Never had a problem and the last time I used it was less than a week ago.
When I print to this printer, I change the wireless network on my iPad over to the printer network. Yesterday, when I did this, although the printer network was visible on my iPad, when I selected it, the message ' no internet connection' is shown underneath the printer network name. The wireless light on the printer is a solid blue and seems to be working fine.
So far, I have double checked the network settings and password. Printed all the wireless printer reports and checked the stats to make sure everything is as it should be. I have reset all devices involved. Finally, I reset the printer to factory defaults and started from scratch. So far, nothing has worked.
Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? I need my printer.
Thanks for any advice.

Hello, @Tobelyn – Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
Going through your post, I understand that you are facing issues while printing from your iPad to your Envy 5530 printer over the network. Try assigning a static IP to the printer. (Use a PC / MAC to do this):
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Now, try printing from your iPad. If the issue persists, try printing from some other devices and check if that works.
Also, try using the Apple AirPrint to print. Get the instructions here: http://hp.care/2dfqOrL
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Cheers 🙂

Hello, @Tobelyn
Do not worry, let's try to run the wireless setup wizard on the printer to get it connected to your network. Follow the steps below:
-
First off, shut down the router for 1-2 mins and then restart the same. Repeat the same exercise on the printer.
-
On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon
.
The Wireless Summary screen appears.
-
Touch Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
-
Follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.
Once the printer gets connected back to the network, then try to print from your iPad.
Let me know if that helps!
Good luck 🙂
