Hi @littleshilo
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you have a question regarding your printer and internet usage.
If you have turned on the auto update feature and the ePrint feature, then yes, your printer will use data as the printer is communicating with the HP servers. You can turn off the auto update feature and only turn it on when you need to check if a firmware update is available for the printer.
Turning off the ePrint feature is much trickier. If you send print jobs to your printer while you are away from home, you will need to keep this feature turned on, knowing it will utilize some of your data. If you are not sending print jobs to the printer while you are away you can turn this off, however, please note that if you do this the printer will lose its ePrint email address with no way to retrieve it.
I hope that explains things.

Hi @littleshilo
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
To turn off the auto updates, please follow the steps below.
- Please tap the ePrint icon in the upper left hand corner on the printer’s display.
- Please tap the settings icon after the printer has displayed the printer’s ePrint email address.
- Please tap on ‘Product Update’
- Please make your choice from the list.
I hope the above answers your question.
