Envy 4520 all in one
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When I click the HP Scan icon I get the message "The HP Envy 4520 series was not found".

 

Copier works fine. Printer works fine. Tried Printer & Scan Doctor. When I open that up all I get is the exe. 

 

When I open up the 4520 on the Devices & Printers window I get no other option to help with scanning. 

 

All software for a previous HP printer was uninstalled prior to setting up this printer 2 days ago.

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

 

The following resource will help you :

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Okay. So, for the 4th time I uninstall/reinstall full program.  I can round-about scan & save. But on the printer window the message is: "No computer found. Windows: Open the HP printer software, select "Scanner Actions", and then select "Manage Scan to Computer".

 

When I open the HP icon I dont have "Scanner Actions."

How to Scan to Computer

Once you have installed the software:

1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent. (the following video will show you how)
