I could not print Excel sheet & PDF document from my HP Laser jet 1020 as well as not set as default printer.

Welcome to the HP Forums Kagda,

I read your post, which indicates that you can't print from Excel and the print driver won't set as the default printer.
I can help you with this.

I have provided a document with the issue for not being able to set the printer as the default. You may take a look at if you like. Use at your own discretion. Unable to set DEFAULT PRINTER?

Back up the registry first, if you decide to try those steps. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows.

 

I have provided some other steps to see if it will resolve the issue.

 

Are you signed in the computer with Admin rights?

 

If you can't set the printer as the default printer, the driver didn't install properly or has become corrupted, Admin rights on the computer or possibly a Virus.

 

Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it.

If the problem persists, then I would uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

 

Uninstalling the Printer Software.

 

HP LaserJet 1020 Printer Drivers.

Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.

 

If you are still having issues, create a new user account.

Create a user account.

 

Run a full scan with your Antivirus Software.

 

What error message are you getting trying to set the printer as the default driver?

Can you print from other applications?

What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

 

Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
