When making copies, a series of lines about 2 inches wide and running down the left side of the page appear on each copy.  There are no problems when printing a document from the computer.  It only happens when making a copy on the printer.  The problem began after I installed a new software update.

Hi,

This has nothing to do with the update, you are getting the lines just because of some dirt or debris on the scanner glass.

once you clean the scanner glass it will get resolved.

here is a document, this may not be for this printer but the steps mentioned are the same, so refer this doc and follow the steps  it will get resolved

Dear Jean17,

If you saw the dirty lines when do copy job but not print job, then the issue may be caused by:

1. Scanner glass is dirty if you copy from scanner glass.

Answer: Clean it before use and try again.

2. ADF is not clean enough

Answer, open ADF lid and remove any dirty materials.

3. Printhead need alignment/clean.

Go to setup menu from UI and do a clean printhead job.

Please click “Untitled.jpg” as an encouragement and “Accept As Solution” if this has helped solved your problem.
