I lost my installation CD. How do I install my HP printer or All in One?

Dear Sir,

I have a printer Hp deskjet D1668 and i installed the driver but the error comes that unable to open ouput file extraction failed. Plesase provide me the solution.

I'm sorry to hear that you are receiving an error message when you attempt to install your Deskjet D1668 printer. I would like to help you and I have a few suggestions for you to try.

Can I purchase another one? Can I download instruction? I just bought the printer and the cd was not in the box. Please help... I really want and need to use this printer... Thank you, Shelly

Hi Shelly,

Thank you for joining the HP Support community.  I understand that the installation CD wasn't included in the box with your new printer.

You didn't indicate which HP printer you received so I'll just keep things very general.   If you click on the link below it will take you to HP's driver download page.  You will need to enter your product information (e.g. - Envy 4500, Officejet 4620, Photosmart 6525, etc). You will be prompted to choose your operating system and then click 'Next'.   

You will be prompted to choose a download (to find the download you may need to click on the '+' beside "Driver - Product Installation Software").  Please click on the blue "Download" button beside the full feature software and driver and choose to save the file to your desktop.  Once the download has completed please double click on the icon on your desktop for the downloaded file and follow the prompts.

If your computer is running Windows 7 or Windows 8 you can use HP's Printer Install Wizard to walk you through finding and installing the correct driver for your printer. I have included a document with the instructions for HP's Printer Install Wizard.
