Thanks for reaching out to us in HP Forums. I read about the printer issue and wanted to stop in to share my suggestions with you 🙂

 

I tried searching for the Photosmart S20 drivers for Windows XP in HP driver page. I am afraid we no longer have the supported driver download available since this is a very old model.

 

I did some digging and came across http://hp.care/2fybjM8 where few other customers also had the same issue. Apparently using a 3rd party scan software (VeuScan) helped them in using the S20 scanner. Hence personally I would suggest you the same. If interested check: http://hp.care/2fy7Xc2

 

PS: This is my personal suggestion since this app is a 3rd party software and has nothing to do with HP.
