Hi, i have a HP Elitebook 8570w with two USb 3.0 Ports.
I had a lot of trouble getting my DMK23UX174 to work due to massive problems in framedrops and freezes after 3sec.
I investigated a lot of time in fixing the problem and tried Intel and HP drivers on Win7 and switched over to Win10 with native usb3.0 support. I also tried the processor idle state manager from IS and deactivated all USB/PCI power saving modes. The camera was not working properly. Everything fine on other usb 2.0 ports. By accident i changed the connection to the second usb 3.0 port. Everything works fine. The port is not faulty, because storage soultions perform at its best on the first port. What is the reason, why the first USB Port is not working for me paired with the camera?
I am technically interested in the reason because i spend so much time on this and i want to have the ability to upgrade in future times to a second camera. (This might be possible by a express card extension, but...)
thank you for your help!
regards, spark

The usual cause for the bad performance of the USB 3 cams is USB controller. Some controllers are just having problems with video equipment. You can try to lower frame rate and to see if your cam will work better. Possible solution to this problem would be PCMCI express card USB 3 controller. They are cheap.

Thank you, Drndadoo!
No its not a issue of bandwidth, even at 5fps the connection is interrupted with a freeze.
Is there a recommendation for NEC, VIA, INTEL Chipsets usb3 in pcmcia card extensions for the elitebook?
Is this a problem of the chipset itself or the interaction between chipset and HP Laptop architecture?
regards, spark.
