My computer was reset to the factory settings.  I lost the butterfly icon that represented my scanner.  I do not know if the butterfly was an HP icon or a technical person set it up for me.

I would like the icon back on my desktop, was it an HP icon?  If so, how do I find it again?

Your description sounds like the HP Scan and Capture application that can be downloaded / installed from the Windows store.
