I am poised to enter the market for laser colour printer and have looked at the CP1025 as an option but am leaning toward the M251n.

This is purely for home use - Not commercial !

My curiosity is the imaging drum ?

for the CP1025 a replacement is offered - lifetime - 15000 copies (Ithink)

Can't seem to find any reference for the M251n

What is the estimated life of the imaging drum for the M251n ?

Is there a replacement drum ?

Is there any other associated parts - e.g. belt(s) to replace ?

I note that the cartridges supplied in the box are limited life (700 prints)

Does the drum also have similar "shortened capacity/life"

Hello Retired-User,

Please find below the answers to your queries. I was able to gather most of the information.

1> What is the estimated life of the imaging drum for the M251n ?
refer to Duty cycle under Printing specifications, which is 30,000 pages per month. for CP1025, the duty cycle is 15000 per month .

2> Is there a replacement drum ?
Yes, but the drum is an integral part of the Toner Cartridge.

3> Is there any other associated parts - e.g. belt(s) to replace ?
I dont think so. Please contact HP Tech Support.

4> I note that the cartridges supplied in the box are limited life (700 prints)
Yes, the page yield is 700 as they are introductory toner cartridges.

5> Does the drum also have similar "shortened capacity/life" :
The life of the drum is the life of the Toner Cartrige. Drum is integral part of the cartridge.
