Link to blinking lights doc.

You will need to contact HP support, use the following link to create yourself a case number.

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.

Sadly I have dispute with HP at the moment and they refuse to help me unless I pay them. So this option isnt available to me.

They are claiming this item isnt under warranty even though it was purchased brand new in box last week and I have shown them a receipt.

Probably the last item I purchase from HP as they are in breach of UK Consumer laws. Now going to have to report this to trading standards which take weeks and months for outcome as they refuse to acknowledge the law.

Most stores will take back a defective printer, have you tried yours.

Purchased online, but this could be a simple solution rather than me packing up the printer and shipping it back for a replacement. The fact that HP are so ignorant that they refuse to help customers is a little irritating to say the least. For me to speak to customer support I have to pay them as they refuse accept their legal duties. For me to send this item back when their could be a very simple solution to this issue I find incredible...

They would rather leave a bad taste in a customers mouth and lose any future potential business than help their customers, are they that desperate for money that refuse to acknowlege legal reciepts for purchase?

Just to clarify the lights arent blinking they are a steady orange rather a flashing light

Did you try UK support?

Have you tried removing the ink cartridges & turning off the printer & then applying power, do the lights change?
