I bought my HP Envy 4500 AIO in Asia where we used to live. Now that we're back in the UK and I need ink, I looked for the 61 which I'm currently using. The only ones I could find were from US and cost £28. Crazy, I thought. So I used the built-in software to look for supplies and it pointed me to the 301. I even downloaded the HP SureSupply app PLUS looked online at various cartridge shops and all pointed to the 301. So I bought it. After installing it, the printer tells me it's incompatible!
I've gone to the HP UK site to download UK drivers thinking it might solve the problem but it hasn't. So what now? I'm not going to spend £28 on a tiny cartridge and the printer is pretty new so I'm not inclined to buy another. Please help.
Thank you,

You will need to contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work. HP's web page on the subject is here.
From a post by Sunshyn2005, to contact HP Support see the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.

Thanks, Bob. That worked although the process was painful. It seems to be a problem with Macs whereby, via wifi, the printer can't display the reset location window (or something like that. can't remember now). My advice for anyone going through this is to connect printer to computer via cable. That solved it.
