The ink is wet when printing photos on photo paper. I have changed the drying time. I've never had this problem before. I even purchased HP photo paper just to see if that might be it. It didn't work. I can print color photos on normal paper. But any sort of photo paper smears/bleeds/runs. I also have true HP ink....no refills. Any ideas how I can get the printer to print photos again on photo paper? I've read of some similar posts online and the information hasn't been too favorable of HP saying that the customer service isn't helpful and there has been no resolution. I'm hoping that this "special support day" will be just what I need. Thanks in advance for your help.

I am having the same problem with ink smearing on photo paper that I have read about in several other posts. I have an hp c309n all in one printer....that for over two years has printed photos just fine, and now all of a sudden is producing photos with very wet ink that smears. Has anyone ever found a solution to this?

What paper type?  Make sure you are using paper designed for inkjet printing.

What printer model? What settings are you using for the paper type?  What photo paper are you using?

I'm sorry. I should have said this the first time. Photosmart C7280 All-in-one. I use the HP Premium Photo Paper. I also should say that I have realigned the printer heads and cleaned them per my instruction manual.

The "Advanced Photo Paper" is the recommended photo paper for the C7280, see here for information.

While I will try that. I have printed on various paper products since I've had the printer....just about a year. Any other suggestions. I honestly don't think it's the paper since I've never had this problem before.

I am having the same problem with an HP 3180 All in One.  It worked wonderfully for several years and just recently the ink on the photos won't dry no matter how long I leave them.  Prints good on white paper.  It has always printed on photo paper--any kind very well until now.  Were you ever able to resolve your problem?  Doesn't look like anyone had any real solutions.

I am also having this same issue with the HP Office Jet Pro 8500.  I am assuming it is the ink.  I have tried different papers and settings.  This is so rediculous.  I have a business to run and now I can't even print the pictures I need.

Yes, thanks....I've been using hp photo 4x6 paper. Also tried Kodak photo paper to see if that would solve the problem, but same thing occurred? Actually, now that I've re-read your answer....am not positive it was specifically for ink jet. Will go buy some specifically for ink jet...to see if it works. Thank you.
