Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP 74/HP 75 cartridge. I understand that you are getting “incompatible cartridge” error message and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- Provide the printer model number or the product number of the printer.
- Remove, inspect, and then reseat the problem cartridge.
- Clean the cartridge and carriage electrical contacts.
- Reset the printer.

So if these are genuine HP cartridges that are still within warranty I would advise contacting HP Support for replacements under warranty. You'll need to provide the warranty ends dates (lasermarked on to the cartridge body in YYYY/MM/DD format)
