Hplip can't see my printer, but lsusb can what can I do to get it to be found manually? I can not discover what to enter in the manual discovery options and what format to enter them in.
output from my terminal console is as follows:

I realize this post is a bit old but this might be helpful to someone. The trick to installing this printer in linux is that you need the firmware for this printer. I find that the firmware seems to get 'lost' sometimes during an upgrade. I've taken to using hplip and clicking on the "Download Firmware" button if needed to install the printer fresh or after a system update that requires the printer to be reinstalled.
