Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I bought a (very cheap) used Designjet t790, and for some reason the seller didn't give me the formatter board with the printer. Without the formatter the printer showed error 8:11 - "No communication between the product and the Touch Control Panel." So I studied a little and bought a new formatter board.

I read somewhere that the hdd would be optional and not necessary for printing - thats false, right? Inserting the formatter board without hdd gives error 8:11 again, after been stuck with "Initializing 1%" a few minutes. I had to separately buy a new hdd with firmware - the parts have now cost more than the printer itself...

With the new hdd attached to formatter board, the initializattion gets a bit further, to 20%. Then I get a brand new error: 01.0:10 - "Communication with Engine PCA failed." If I leave it for a few minutes, error changes to 8:04 - touch screen communication is lost.

What now, do I have to buy another part?

The touch key lights turn on after 6 seconds of power-on, but any touch key combination doesn't seem to work. The screen touch seems to be working as I can scroll the error screen.

EDIT: Touch keys must be working - when I press cancel, home and help on the startup, the lights blink a few times as a confirmation. Nothing happens after though, it goes to same initializing 20% and then 01.0:10 error.

The power button light comes and stays on, but the button itself doesn't seem to work - the only way to shut this thing off is with the main 1/0 switch at the back, next to power cable. When I switch the 1/0 button again, the printer turns on instantly.

Thanks for help everyone! After fighting a couple more months with this, I got a new mainboard and that fixed the printer.

I managed to obtain the log via usb stick.. Unfortunately the log is in encrypted .trb format. Is there any way to view that log?
