Hello!

I was trying to reinstall the software and drivers bu the screen seems to be stuck. Or maybe it's done and I don't know it.

It is at the Installing Photosmart Prem c410 series screen and all 4 catergories have a green check mark. The last one reads "Produt cinfiguration complete", however the disc graphic on the side is still spinning and the progress bar at the bottom is still moving. This has been going on for over an hour.

Is it stuck or is it done?

Thanks!

Likely done AND stuck.

The very last step might be to open a Web page (used to be for the purpose of registering the printer and the like).  If that is the reason for the "stuck forever" status, it may not matter and you don't care.

  • At any rate, you have to stop the installation sometime so you may as well kill it now.

If you can, and if there is an X on the top right corner of the installation windows, Click the "X" to get out of the program.

OR

Hover mouse over Taskbar > Right-Click to open the Task Manager >

In the Processes tab, search for the stuck installation >

Right-Click on the offending program and "End task"

Next:

  • Restart your computer and log in.

  • Check out your printer -- there should be a Printer Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop...

If the printer software is messed up (tech speak for not working):

  • If using USB cable between the printer and the computer, disconnect the cable
  • Download and save a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software
  • Uninstall the printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
  • Restart the computer and log in
  • Open File Explorer > navigate to the folder in which you saved the installation package >
  • Double-Click on the file to start the installation > follow instructions
  • If using the USB cable, connect only when told to do so...

  • After the installation is complete, Restart the computer and log in
