Hi, I have the HP Envy 4507 at the moment, and I don't find it very good at photos. I always get scan lines across photos. This is with using instant ink.
I have decided to go for something else in the HP range. The OfficeJet Pro 8715 looks good, but although it's bigger, I can't see how it's better than the 4507 for photos.
Will this be a big improvent for photos over what I have now, and why is the OfficeJet so big?!
Thanks

Thanks but nothing I can see in specifications states in what way the OfficeJet is better than the 4507 printer at printing photos. The max resolution is the same on both as it appears to be on all printers.
I don't want to spend £100 on a printer which does exactly the same as what I have now. I just don't understand why it's so much bigger than the Envy too.

Hi,
Generally, the printers provide the same print resolution as you mention and the 8710 will not provide you a better photo print quality than your Envy printer..
The 8710 is begger and provided with many more capabilities, higher print speeds, its, it is intended for business usage, meaning for higher page printing cycle rather than quality, the cost per page will be cheeper but that don't mean a better print quality...
Personally I think a 2 ink cartridges printer as yours can provide better photo printing results than an IIC (4 cartridges) printers...
What print quality do you select for your photo?
What paper do you print your photos? is it a Plain Paper or a Photo Paper?
If it is a photo paper, is it Glossy, Matte? what is the media weight? do you select Maximum DPI for a such?
There are many configuration options to affect a such..

I was using HP Everyday photo paper and I also tried Kodak photo paper - same results.
I always select 'best for photos' and I did change the settings to 'max dpi', 180gsm paper, glossy. I still had faint scan lines on photos. It's been like this since new.
I use original ink too via Instant Ink, so it's frustrating which is why I thought I might buy a more expensive printer.
Not really sure what else to do.
