I have a dual band modem that will operate in only one mode at a time (2.4 ghz or 5 ghz).  I prefer to set it to 5ghz because it is less congested in an urban setting such as where I live.  However, when I switch it to the 5ghz mode the printer won't connect and constantly tells me to reconnect.  It is a nuissance, espcially since i could easily bypass this if I could just hardwire the printer to my router but, alas, I cannot as there is no ethernet port on the printer.  Is there not an adapter or something for this HP?  I like the Hp instant ink service but am finding this little nuance to be annoying to say the least.

I am seriously considering returning to the old method of just buying cartridges when I need them as this is quite annoying.

I wouldn't worry about it.  Printers hardly use and data throughput anyway.   Besides your range would be deceased also.  That's why printers don't support the 5G band.

**bleep** dude!! Its ok Envy 4500  doesn't support 5G because the printer throughput isn't that large????? Are you kidding me?  I also have a dual band router, I run ALL of my wireless devices, including all mycomputers on 5G.  The ONLY product that does NOT work with this band is HP Envy 4500e all-in-one WIRELESS printer? Are you telling me then that I can't run any of my computers on 5G if I want them to work with the printer?? And your an EXPERT user? WOW.

All your 5G devices will work just fine with the 2.4 band printer. Works just fine. And yes the printer is considered low bandwidth.
