I purchased an HP LaserJet 600 M603 no more than two years ago. I find that the embedded Jetdirect card may have gone bad and the printer is out of warranty. I don't mind paying for a new card but what's rankling me is that HP is telling me the card is no longer available. I find this situation intolerable for a printer only two years old.

 

Has anyone else run into this problem and how do you work around it? Is there a way to use an external print server if the internal one has gone bad? Help (since HP seems unwilling to do so)!

As per the device specifications of M603, the supported wireless jetdirect card is J8026A (HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Wireless Print Server):
