Is this how Hp is now?

New off the shelf brand new printer. Finally set up. Now I am unable to print with the printer I have bought. How many pages of paper does the typical new printer owner go through after set up? Why has Hp gone so cheap. Also the scanning feature dose not give good resolution like the old one. Can I really scan 15 pages on the top to email or is this going to jam too?

There are no support staff or IP people too late at night and the virtual assistant is just as sleepy.
