Dell Inspiron
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Officejet 8500A connected to a Dell Inspiron with Windows 10.  I received an error message during scanning saying "Scanner in use wait until later."  After turning computer and printer off several times without the error message going away I used HP support and downloaded HP Print and Support Doctor.  Scanner then worked but my keyboard no longer responds to computer.  I cannot find this software to delete the program.  I do get an error message saying that the HP software is not compatible with my computer.

Hello, @Geojoe - Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for reaching out to HP Support Forums! I would like to be of your assistance 🙂

HP Print Scan Doctor is an executable file and hence is not installed in your computer. That is the reason you do not find the application in your programs list.

If you want to remove the program, you simply delete the HP PSDR from your file location. so, right click on HP PSDR icon and select "open file location". Delete the HP PSDR folder to remove the program completely from your computer. Once done, try restarting your computer and check.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Good luck 🙂
