I just bought a Laserjet MFPM225dw. When I first turned it on, right after setting the language and country on the LCD panel, it asked me to choose between "IT MANAGED" and "SELF MANAGED".
I chose self managed...although I was unable to determine what the difference was between the two. Anybody know? And I have looked in the settings but am unable to find anywhere that I can change it to "It MANAGED" if I later want to.
So could someone please tell me what the difference is between the two?
And how do I switch between the two after I have initially chosen one or the other?
Thanks!

Hi,
An IT Manage ernvoirnment refer to a business envoirnment, e.g. a printer shared and controlled through a Server operating system on a business managed envoirnment.
For home usage you should only select a Self Managed printer.

I was just curious as to what differences there were between the two.....do certain features work with one or the other? Obviously I'm not in an enterprise environment....have no need for group management features, which is what I assume IT Managed allows...but is there anything else that is different?
Thanks!

Found this info here (http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c04228610)
Follow the control-panel prompts to set the language and location.
Under Default Settings select one of these options:
Self-managed: Turn on HP Update so the product automatically downloads firmware updates from the Web.
IT-managed: Turn off HP Update so the product does not automatically download firmware updates from the Web.
