I have a Laser Jet HP1525nw that was displaying the message "Firmware Corrupt Ready 2 Download" on the display so I followed the directions from HP Consumr Report "A 'Firmware Corrupt Ready 2 Download' Error Message Displays on the Control Panel in Windows XP", now it will not goe past "Erasing . . .".
Anyone know how to get this printer back to a functioning state?

Hi @mlkeeney,
I see by your post that you are getting the error "Firmware Corrupt Ready 2 Download" on the printer and now the display is showing erasing. I can help you with this.
At this point the only thing you can do is to try and turn the printer off and on again to see if the printer will go back to a ready screen. If the printer won't shut down, I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Unplug the power cable from the printer for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and make sure the printer is connected to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector and turn the printer on. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
If the printer goes back to a ready mode, print off a configuration page to see what the firmware version is.
Printing a Configuration Report. Under Windows, select Method one.
How was the printer setup when running the firmware update? (USB, Ethernet, Wireless)
Do you know what version of firmware you had on the printer prior to running the firmware update?
Did you run the update by the HPDU automatically or by downloading FW from website?
Do you know what the original FW version was?
Please let me know the results.
Thank You.
