Printer is connected wireless to airport extreme (mac router) it prints ok but scanner does not work. The only way it works is when printer is connected directly to the computer via usb cable. if i remove the usb cable printer will still print but scanner does not work "it gives a error message no scanners available"

It may not be accurate, but this download page mentions "full printing support" in its title: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=Im-80903-5&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...

I have just taken possession of a new printer above.  The instructions are only for WINDOWS.  This is a disaster for me as a especially bought this printer so that I can use it wirelessly on my home network and send files to print from several computers in the house that are not connected.

My version of MAC is 10.6.8

Is it possible for me to set up the wireless function or do I need to take it back and buy some other printer that works on a MAC platform?

Did you download and install the software from the link above?  Did it not tell you what to do?
