Hi
We have a HP LaserJet 500 color MFP m575. Something went wrong and one of our technician formatted a partition, and then we tried to install firmware again.
And it is going fine with downloading a firmware from usb drive, and after that a printer restart and at some point on a display we get a message “initializing” and counting and nothing else happens, it was initializing to 5000 and then we turned it off.
I do not know if it has something to do what version of firmware we are using because we do not know what was the previous version and now we are trying to install ljM575fw_2308209_000588.bdl
We tried to remove hard disk and boot printer, we tried to format hard disk, install a new disk (it seems best with the disk from printer) and nothing helps.
Can anyone please help us with any hint what are we doing wrong?
Kind regards
Milan

Hello Milan,
When you said that you've tried with another HDD, did you use a HDD bought from HP?
Is because HP HDD are encrypted and made to work with the printer.
My recommendation would be to do a Secure Erase (Take in count this process last an hour)
To perform this option you need to:
1. Turn the product on.
2. Press the Stop button when the Ready, Data and Attention LEDs illuminate solid.
3. Press the down arrow button to highlight Administrator, and then press the OK button.
4. Press the down arrow button to highlight Manage Disk, and then press the OK button.
5. Press the down arrow button to highlight Boot Device, and then press the OK button.
6. Press the down arrow button to highlight Secure Erase, and then press the OK button.
7. Press the OK button again.

downloaded image again from usb stick
and then I let the printer boot and im back where i started
everything is fine until it starts initializing
and after several hours it was still "initializing" count was up to 10700 then i turned it off.

Hello, if you have another hdd I would install that, then go into the preboot menu and perform an erase/unlock, once you do that try installing the firmware. But I would try using a different thumbstick and see if anything changes.
Hope this helps....
