my hp laserjet enterprise m605 keeps coming with error 49.4A.04 error everytime I want to print the error keeps coming up.

Hi MichaelGTbank,

 

Unplug the printer from network or USB connection. Upgrade the firmware to the latest version. Remove any drivers for the printer and then install the latest ones.

Alex has given you the correct steps and here is why. 99% of 49 errors are generated when the printer receives a command it does not understand.  Updating the firmware ensures that the printer has the latest code that can handle new commands generated by updated software programs like Adobe Acrobat. You disconnect the USB or network cable to stop those commands from crashing the printer again while you are updating the firmware.  Download the current firmware from support.HP.com. Place the BDL file in the root directory of a USB stick. On the printer control panel scroll down to device maintenance,  then find firmware update,  you will be promoted to insert the USB stick. The printer will search the stick and then display the update file and ask you to confirm you wish to install. Printer will update and then reboot.  You can safely remove the stick once reboot starts.
