LaserJet Pro 200 M251nw
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Trying to install the LaserJet Pro 200 M251nw as a local printer utilizing the usb cable.  I do not have the original disk that came with the printer.  I am installing this on a Dell Optiplex 3020 running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  I have tried all three different drivers from the hp support site.  Once the installer gets to the point of having me connect the printer, it takes well over 20 minutes to get to 100%, then I get a "fatal error"

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you are having issues installing the printer software. I would be happy to help you.

Make sure you are signed in with Admin Rights on the computer when installing the printer software.

I would uninstall and reinstall the printer software. Immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow the steps in this document: A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. This should resolve this error message.

If the issue persists, please find the error code and continue with one of the documents listed: HP Printers - A 'Fatal Error' Displays During HP Software Installation (Windows).

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help, please click the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up" buttons. Let me know how you make out. Cheers!

I will try this when I get back to that location next week

Was able to find the disk for this printer. Ran the disk and printer installed like a champ. Wish they would put the original software on the website instead of the generic drivers.

Hi @Gemini02,

I have a very similar problem, but I am using an Acer V 15 Nitro running Windows 10 64-bit, so the webpage you provided isn't helpful to me.  Can you give me a solution that would apply to Windows 10 64-bit?  Thanks!
